Terri Ludwig, who has been CEO of Enterprise Community Partners since 2010, will leave the organization at the end of the year to become Ballmer Group’s president of philanthropy.
The Enterprise board will initiate a national search for a successor.
Following Ludwig’s departure and until a successor is identified, Laurel Blatchford, president, will assume leadership responsibilities of Enterprise Community Partners. Charlie Werhane will continue to lead Enterprise Community Investment.
“Since becoming head of Enterprise in September 2010, Terri has made extraordinary contributions to our organization, to the field of affordable housing and community development, and to low-income people across the country,” said Ron Terwilliger, chairman of the board, in a statement on the Enterprise website. “Terri’s legacy is a stronger Enterprise, one that is uniquely situated to improve communities and people’s lives by making well-designed homes affordable.
We will miss Terri and her visionary leadership, and we are excited that she will be moving to an organization with a mission focused on economic mobility. We wish Terri every success.”
Prior to joining Enterprise, Ludwig served as president of the Merrill Lynch Community Development Co., where she led the bank’s community development effort. She was also president and CEO of ACCION New York, the largest nonprofit microlender in the United States.
Co-founded by Connie and Steve Ballmer, the Ballmer Group “supports efforts to improve economic mobility for children and families in the United States who are disproportionately likely to remain in poverty.” Steve Ballmer is the former CEO of Microsoft.
