Ben Metcalf, deputy assistant secretary for Multifamily Housing Programs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will deliver the keynote presentation at the new AHF Live: Housing Developers Forum on June 12 in Pentagon City, Va.
Metcalf will address what affordable housing developers and owners can expect from the federal agency for the remainder of the year. He also will go in-depth about the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), the expansion of the FHA Tax Credit Pilot Program to Sec. 221(d)(4) projects, changes to the MAP Guide, as well as the latest on the Multifamily for Tomorrow transformation.
He has served as the deputy assistant secretary for Multifamily Housing Programs, which includes Sec. 8, Sec. 202, Sec. 811, Choice Neighborhoods, RAD, and the FHA multifamily insurance, since August 2013. Previously at HUD, he served as senior adviser to the assistant secretary for housing-FHA commissioner.
Prior to joining HUD, Metcalf worked at San Francisco–based nonprofit BRIDGE Housing, where he developed more than $150 million of commercial, residential, civic, and retail investment as part of large-scale mixed-use and mixed-income communities. While at BRIDGE, he was recognized as one of Affordable Housing Finance’s Young Leaders in 2008.
Sponsored by Affordable Housing Finance magazine, AHF Live: Housing Developers Forum will bring together developers and owners with legislators and housing finance officials to provide solutions on how to best navigate that intersection of government and affordable housing to serve more Americans. The conference is June 10-12 at The Ritz-Carlton in Pentagon City, Va. To register or for more information, visit www.ahfliveforum.com.
