Marie Head is stepping out of the role of multifamily deputy assistant secretary at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
However, she has agreed to continue to lead the implementation of the multifamily transformation, the platform that will change the operating model and consolidate agency offices, according to Carol Galante, HUD assistant secretary and FHA commissioner, in a letter to colleagues.
Ben Metcalf will become the multifamily deputy assistant secretary. He has been supporting HUD for the past three years, most recently as senior adviser. Prior to HUD, he worked at BRIDGE Housing, a leading affordable housing developer based in San Francisco.
Galante led BRIDGE Housing before joining HUD in 2009.
Head’s accomplishments include launching the low-income housing tax credit pilot program and the Rental Assistance Demonstration program.
