The historic rehabilitation of SPA Apartments in Clifton Springs, N.Y., has successfully revitalized one of the jewels of New York state’s Mitchell-Lama portfolio. The developers are Rochester's Cornerstone Group and Home Leasing.
The building was initially built as a sanitarium and water cure center for visitors looking to benefit from the healing powers of the area's sulfur springs. Developers have worked to restore the building's solarium.
The lobby has been renovated as part of the rehabilitation of the 109-unit SPA Apartments. The average age of residents at the community is approximately 75 to 78.
One of the development's most unique features is a chapel containing a Louis Comfort Tiffany mosaic.
