Parkview Place was built into the top three stories of a local YMCA in Anderson, Ind.
Parkview Place's 30 units are subsidized with vouchers from the Anderson Housing Authority, resulting in rents significantly below market rate. The residents can also take advantage of expanded social services designed with their physical, emotional, social, financial, and spiritual needs in mind.
Episcopal Retirement Homes Affordable Living covered a one-time fee for each Parkview Place resident to receive a lifetime membership to the YMCA. Residents can take advantage of exercise equipment and classes to maintain physical fitness and socialize with peers. They also are given priority for various volunteer opportunities at the YMCA.
Because one standard floor plan would have been impossible given the structure, at least 10 different unit models were designed to best utilize available space. In addition, 26 of the 30 units are fully accessible.
