The 58-unit Parkside Studios in Sunnyvale, Calif., is the first low-income housing tax credit-financed modular workforce housing development in Northern California.
The development was manufactured by ZETA Communities in 75 modules at a factory just outside Sacramento.
Designed by Studio E Architects, the 370-square-foot micro-unit studios feel open and airy because of the addition of private balconies, tall ceilings, and large windows. Kitchens and bathrooms are compact but include all the expected appliances and fixtures.
Catholic Charities provides resident service coordination as well as adult education, health, and skills building classes at Parkside Studios.
