Developed by MidPen Housing, the 58-unit Onizuka Crossing provides affordable housing to families in Sunnyvale, Calif., including 29 households that used to be homeless. Six units are dedicated to formerly homeless veterans and their families.
Green building features include solar photovoltaic panels and solar thermal hot water heating, drought-tolerant landscaping, Energy Star appliances, and high-efficiency lighting and plumbing. All Onizuka Crossing residents have access to free Wi-Fi.
All Onizuka Crossing residents have access to on-site programs and services that are coordinated and managed by MidPen Resident Corp. as well as delivered by a network of local partners. This includes an after-school program.
Designed by David Baker Architects, Onizuka Crossing features three courtyards.
