The orientation of the site plan is intended to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere, with parking on the periphery. The site is anchored by a community building, which is located opposite a central open space that includes a lawn, a children's play area, and community gardens. The residents' buildings are designed so all kitchen windows and unit back doors face or open into the common area and/or community walkways.
The developer has partnered with La Luz Center, a local provider of social services in Sonoma. La Luz Center provides services and classes as well as a special outreach program to local vineyard workers.
