Full Circle Communities' Milwaukee Avenue Apartments provides 32 units for disabled and low-income households in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood.
An accessible garden is available for residents' usage. One resident, who formerly had been in a nursing home and was referred to the property by the state, had been a landscaper and volunteers his time to help oversee and maintain the garden.
The units are all universally designed and feature adjustable-height countertops, pull-down shelves, and roll-in showers. Every unit is accessible and can be modified to serve residents' needs.
