Housing Helps to Revitalize Philadelphia Neighborhood

Developed by The Community Builders, Nicetown Community Development Corp., and Universal Cos., Nicetown Court II has created 50 units for households earning 20 percent, 50 percent, and 60 percent of the area median income in Philadelphia's historic Nicetown neighborhood.

Housing Helps to Revitalize Philadelphia Neighborhood

In addition to the housing units, the development features 4,700 square feet of commercial space geared toward local needs and businesses. Neighborhood restaurant Sister Muhammad’s Kitchen has relocated to one of the commercial spaces in the building. The development team also hopes to fill the other two commercial spaces with a smaller convenience store as well as a coffee or gift shop.

Nicetown Court II furthers the redevelopment and creates a gateway to the Nicetown neighborhood. It also complements the nearby Nicetown Court I, which was developed by Nicetown Community Development Corp. and Universal Cos.

Nicetown Community Development Corp. provides services for both phases of Nicetown Court, focusing on financial literacy and access to programs for children development and employment support.
