The 124-unit Arbor House in the Bronx has earned LEED-Platinum, Energy Star, and National Green Building Gold ratings.
The building serves residents earning 60 percent of the area median income, with 25 percent of the units set aside for New York City Housing Authority residents.
The development team incorporated features that will help residents reduce the cost of electricity and energy.
The building provides access to fresh produce directly from its 10,000-square-foot hydroponic rooftop farm.
Blue Sea Development is partnering with Boston-based Sky Vegetables on the hydroponic farm. Forty percent of the produce will be made available to the community through local outreach to schools, hospitals, and markets.
