Developed by Resources for Community Development, Berrellesa Palms in Martinez, Calif., provides 48 apartments and supportive services to seniors who are age 62 and older and have chronic health conditions and were either homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
Berrellesa Palms will take part in the California Assisted Living Waiver Program, a pilot program that will provide 24-hour nursing services to help residents manage their health care needs and reduce use of more costly health services. All units are supported by project-based Sec. 8 housing assistance.
The $22.7 million development is next to Martinez's downtown. The building’s design captures the style of the many nearby historic homes.
