The development of 12th Avenue Arts in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle addresses many community goals in one building.
12th Avenue Arts includes eight studio, 72 one-bedroom, and eight two-bedroom units for households earning no more than 60% of the area median income.
The ground floor of 12th Avenue Arts features more than 9,000 square feet of new cultural space that includes two new performing arts theaters with 150 and 80 seats, respectively, a main lobby, green rooms, dressing rooms, and a scene shop.
The theaters and support space have been master-leased by a new consortium of three established Seattle theater companies. Black Box Operations includes New Century Theatre Co., Strawberry Theatre Workshop, and Washington Ensemble Theatre.
