J. Jacob Sipe has been named executive director of the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority, effective Jan. 14.

Sipe, who has been with the agency since 1999, was recently appointed to the post by Gov.-elect  Mike Pence after serving as interim executive director since last July.

In his former position as head of the real estate department, he was responsible for administering the state’s low-income housing tax credit program and other key housing finance programs.

At the 2011 Indiana Statewide Conference on Housing and Community Economic Development, Sipe received the Michael Carroll Community Economic Development Leadership Award for his efforts to advance affordable housing partnerships and production.

He is a graduate of Indiana University’s School of Public Environmental Affairs, serves on the advisory council for LISC Indianapolis and the Affordable Housing Association of Indiana, and is a board member of the Community Investment Fund of Indiana, Inc.
