INGLEWOOD, CALIF.—PATH Ventures recently hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for a 20-unit affordable housing development.
PATH Villas Osage Apartments in Inglewood is a project of PATH Ventures and Polis Properties I. The development is a new construction project that will provide eight one-bedroom, six two-bedroom, and six three-bedroom apartments. Two units will be leased at 30 percent of the area median income (AMI), six units at 40 percent of the AMI, six units at 50 percent of the AMI, and six units at 60 of the AMI. Construction is scheduled to be completed in March 2011.
“We’re very excited to break ground on this new development in Inglewood,” John Molloy, executive director of PATH Ventures, said in a statement. “Providing low- and very low-income individuals with temporary housing and supportive services is crucial, but it isn’t enough if there is no permanent housing available for them. We must build enough permanent, affordable housing for everyone in need. We still have a long way to go, but with this development we are 20 units closer to where we need to be.”
In 2007, PATH Ventures made a commitment to develop 1,000 units of affordable and permanent supportive housing by 2012. The new site will bring PATH Ventures’ total number of leased and developed units to 406.
