Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Claudia Cappio as executive director of the California Housing Finance Agency.
For the past 30 years, she has served as development director, city planner, and major projects and building manager for several local governments in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Cappio served as development director for the city of Oakland when Brown was mayor.
Steven Spears, who recently served as director, will stay on as the agency’s chief deputy director.
