Thirty-seven developments have been awarded $9.5 million in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) funds from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati.
The grants will help create 685 units of affordable housing in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
There were 13 awards in Kentucky; 12 in Ohio; and 12 in Tennessee.
The first round of awards included 15 grants worth $2.7 million to Habitat for Humanity organizations.
The YWCA of Greater Cincinnati received an $825,000 grant for its 60-unit Women’s Housing development. The member bank participating in the award is Fifth Third Bank.
A second funding will be held later this year.
Federal Home Loan Banks set aside 10 percent of their net earnings for the AHP. Since 1990, the FHLBank of Cincinnati has contributed $450 million toward the creation of nearly 60,000 units of low-income housing.
