Conrad Egan has joined the Affordable Housing Institute, a global nonprofit consultancy firm, as a senior adviser.

Egan was most recently president and CEO of the National Housing Conference (NHC), a housing policy advocacy organization. He also spent more than two decades at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

From his base in Washington, D.C., he is working with Ahmedabad, India’s SEWA Bank in pursuing expansion capital for SEWA Housing Finance from U.S. and global capital providers.

“When we learned Conrad was retiring from NHC, we wasted no time in recruiting him for AHI,” said founder David Smith in a statement. “Conrad’s immense knowledge of housing programs, his personal integrity, and longstanding vision and policy commitment make him a tremendous addition to our ability to support affordable housing globally. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
