New York City —Judy Calogero has been named the new CEO of the New York Housing Conference (NYHC), a coalition of developers, managers, and investors in affordable housing.

The former commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, Calogero, steps into the role created by Clara Fox, who founded NYHC in 1973 and who passed away in 2007.

Calogero plans to follow Fox’s example as a strong advocate for affordable housing. “My primary mission will be to stimulate legislation on the federal, state, and local levels to spur housing and community development in New York,” says Calogero. “There is no better way to jump-start America’s troubled economy than to create housing, which in turn creates jobs and vital infrastructure improvements.”

She most recently served as the Northeast director of the tax credit equity group for RBC Capital Markets, supervising the origination of affordable housing, historic, and solar tax credit investments for the bank.
