Julie Hertzog has been named executive director of the Affordable Housing Investors Council (AHIC).

Prior to joining AHIC, Hertzog had been executive vice president for operations at Seedco, a national nonprofit that helps low-income people and communities achieve economic prosperity. She also previously had been senior deputy executive director of Amnesty International, COO of The After-School Corp., and COO for the New York City program of the Local Initiatives Support Corp.

“We are pleased Julie has accepted the executive director position,” said Leila Ahmadifar, AHIC president and director of low-income housing tax credit investments at Citi. “Julie has held leadership roles within large national nonprofit and affordable housing organizations and will be instrumental in promoting AHIC’s overall mission, which is to create a forum to educate and discuss issues of importance to corporate investors.”

Hertzog replaces Karen Muchin, who recently became a principal at tax credit developer Celadon Holdings, LLC.

AHIC is a nonprofit organization comprised of corporations engaged in the investment of real estate funds for affordable housing.
