AHF Live: The Affordable Housing Developers Summit, which was set to take place Nov. 16-18 in Chicago, is switching to a virtual event due to ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual conference will take place over four days, Nov. 16-19, with about three hours of in-depth content each day. All of the key sessions that people have come to expect from AHF Live will still be held with the industry’s top developers and housing professionals.

“We waited as long as we could for the outlook for in-person events to improve, but unfortunately the decision to change course appears to be the best option,” says Rob Britt, vice president of multifamily at Hanley Wood. “We are very confident in our ability to deliver an engaging online experience for all participants. Our deep network of industry expertise and familiarity planning virtual events in other market segments this year will be valuable in creating the optimal experience for both sponsors and attendees.”

It’s disappointing to not be able to meet in person this year, but we hope the virtual format will allow more and new attendees to participate.

The conference will focus on a different track each day: leadership, policy, finance, and development.

Registration is complimentary for affordable housing developers, general partner owners, and managers as well as state and local housing agency representatives. A separate on-demand viewing option is available for $149. Service providers would still need to sponsor or pay an industry partner fee to take part.

For more details, visit the AHF Live website.

Key sessions this year include the State of the Industry Power Panel, Affordable Housing’s Role in Ensuring Social Justice, A 2021 Forecast for LIHTC Allocations, What’s Ahead at HUD, Weighing Your Debt Financing Options, Tapping Into Bond Financing, Tax Credit Equity Outlook Power Panel, AHF 50 Developers Best Practices, Emerging Building Techniques, and Preparing for Year 15 and Aging Properties.

Taking place two weeks after the election, there will also be an informative and engaging Capitol Hill Update. There will also be keynote presentation from Chris Herbert, managing director of the Joint Center for Housing Studies at Harvard University.

Plus, AHF Live will host a virtual Women in Affordable Housing Happy Hour and its annual Awards Ceremony to recognize this year’s Hall of Fame inductees, Young Leaders, and Readers’ Choice Award winners.

Finally, we will host a separate two-hour Tax Credit and Tax-Exempt Bond Boot Camp prior to conference. This workshop will require a separate fee.
