Affordable Housing Finance has opened its annual Readers’ Choice Awards for nominations. The deadline is April 1.

Affordable housing developments that were completed in 2023 or will be completed this year are eligible to be nominated at www.ahfawards.com. In its 20th year, the program will recognize outstand developments in nine categories:

  • Family;
  • Historic Rehab;
  • Mixed-Use;
  • Permanent Supportive Housing;
  • Preservation;
  • Public Housing Redevelopment;
  • Rural (in a place with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants);
  • Seniors; and
  • Urban.

AHF will select the finalists, which will be featured online and in the July/August issue, based on several criteria, including impact on the community, evidence of cost effectiveness, creative problem solving, innovative design or construction, and outstanding social services for residents.

Magazine and newsletter subscribers as of July 31 then will vote for the winner in each category. Winners will be recognized in the November/December issue as well as at AHF Live: The Affordable Housing Developers’ Summit, Nov. 18 to 20, 2024, in Chicago.

AHF will seek nominations for its Hall of Fame and Young Leaders programs separately this spring.
