AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE is proud to present the 34 finalists of its eighth annual Readers' Choice Awards for the nation's top developments of 2011 and 2012.
We received more than 140 nominations this year, and we carefully selected the finalists in nine categories.
Over the following pages, you'll read about these shining developments that were selected on our assessment of several key characteristics, including adding to the aff ordable housing stock, community revitalization, creative problem-solving, outstanding social services, and cost-eff ective and innovative design and construction.
Now it's up to you to choose the most deserving in each category as well as the overall winner. Get a closer look at the developments through slideshows in the links below and then you'll have the opportunity to vote from July 11 through Aug. 15 on the site. Voting is only open to AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE magazine and e-newsletter subscribers as of July 1.
The winners will be announced on the website and e-newsletter in September, highlighted in the November/December issue, and honored at the conclusion of AHF Live: The 2012 Affordable Housing Developers' Summit, Nov. 14- 16, at the Fairmont Millennium Park in Chicago.
