Related Affordable Names New President
Matthew Finkle has been named president of Related Affordable, a leading affordable housing developer and owner.
He joined Related in 2003, and during his tenure he has played a critical role in the acquisition and preservation of more than 9,000 affordable housing units, comprising nearly $900 million in total development costs. Related Affordable has acquired and preserved tens of thousands of affordable housing units and expanded its operations nationwide.
Finkle will be responsible for the pursuit of new opportunities and segments. He takes over the top post from Mark Carbone, who will remain with the firm to focus on the legacy assets.
Carrfour Appoints Fund Director
Anthea M. Pennant has been named director of fund development and external affairs at Carrfour Supportive Housing, Florida’s largest nonprofit affordable housing developer. Prior to joining Carrfour, she served as director of development and external affairs at Feeding South Florida.
Riley Heads CohnReznick’s N.Y. Affordable Housing Practice
Bill Riley, a partner at CohnReznick, has relocated to New York City to lead the firm’s Northeast region affordable housing practice.
As previous co-managing principal in the Baltimore office, Riley led the Mid-Atlantic region’s New York and New Jersey affordable housing initiatives. He has been a partner at the firm since 1979.
Lahn Joins WNC
Jonathan Lahn has become vice president, originations, at WNC, a national low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) syndicator.
He will be responsible for sourcing and securing partnerships in properties in the Southeast.
Lahn was recently a vice president at another tax credit syndication firm.
IFG Adds to Team
Ralph Coppersmith has become senior vice president of acquisitions for the West Coast at IFG Capital.
He will be responsible for securing and closing West Coast affordable housing opportunities for the Los Angeles-based LIHTC syndicator. Prior to joining IFG, Coppersmith served as the national director of originations for Credit Capital, LLC.
LISC’s Marcus to Head Corporate Relations
Beth Marcus has been named senior vice president for corporate and foundation relations at the Local Initiatives Support Corp. (LISC).
She was most recently a LISC vice president and director of lending, managing the organization’s national credit review process and guiding staff in 30 LISC offices on structuring and underwriting loans for community development projects.
Prior to joining LISC, Marcus was a senior program manager for the Community Economic Development Assistance Corp., where she financed affordable and supportive housing projects across Massachusetts.
Mercy Appoints Philanthropy Chief
Sharon Saxelby has been named senior vice president and chief philanthropy officer at Mercy Housing.
Her appointment culminates a national search to establish a new structure for the organization’s philanthropic efforts.
Saxelby was recently president and CEO of Friends of the Orphans, an $18 million national fundraising organization serving nine orphanages, a pediatric hospital, and outreach programs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
MidPen Announces CFO
Arthur Fatum has been appointed CFO at MidPen Housing Corp., a leading nonprofit developer and owner in California. He will oversee MidPen’s financial assets, which total nearly $1 billion, and will drive all aspects of financial planning.
He joins MidPen from the Low Income Investment Fund, a national community development financial institution.
Pennrose Names Marketing VP
Lee Reedy has been named vice president of marketing at Pennrose, a leading real estate development and management firm.
Pennrose develops and operates affordable and conventional communities in multiple states. Reedy joins the Philadelphia-based firm from ACTS Retirement-Life Communities.
Greystone Appoints Construction Director
Justin Patwin has joined Greystone Affordable Housing Initiatives as director of construction management.
He and his team will coordinate and manage contractors and consultants to rehabilitate client affordable housing portfolios.
Vesta Hires New Executive
Charles M. Moran has joined the Vesta Management subsidiary of Vesta Corp. As vice president of the Connecticut-based firm, he will oversee the operation of 24 affordable rental housing properties with 4,200 units in several states. He was previously with Conifer Realty and The Community Builders.
CPC Announces Moves
The Community Preservation Corp. (CPC), a leading nonprofit affordable housing lender in New York state, has consolidated its Bronx and Brooklyn offices into a single New York City originations team led by Senior Vice President Robert Riggs.
Riggs has served as director of CPC’s Brooklyn region since 2008.
