Hill Joins Merchants Capital
Linda Hill has joined Merchants Capital as senior vice president in the tax credit syndications division.
Based in San Francisco, the industry veteran will co-lead the tax credit equity investor relations and syndications platform and manage equity relationships with many of the top affordable housing sponsors in the U.S.
Hill, who has an affordable housing career spanning 25 years, most recently served as a senior executive within the tax credit group at Aegon Real Assets, where she oversaw the production team responsible for all originations, underwriting, and closing low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) investments. As head of the Aegon tax credit production group, she oversaw the production of more than $2 billion in tax credit investments. Prior to her role at Aegon, Hill served as senior vice president of originations at Alliant Capital, a national tax credit syndicator.
Fairfield Homes Names VP
Merydith Greene has joined Fairfield Homes’ executive leadership team as vice president of asset management and development.
She is responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic business pipeline to advance the profitability of the company’s construction, development, and property management divisions.Greene has 20 years of experience in national and local business development, real estate, affordable housing, and LIHTCs.
Prior to joining Fairfield Homes, she worked extensively in the affordable housing industry, most recently serving as chief of development for Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing. Earlier, she worked with the National Affordable Housing Trust.
Fairfield Homes is a full-service property management company present in over 113 communities with more than 4,700 units throughout Ohio and in neighboring states across the Midwest.
MFRG-ICON Hires Director of Philanthropy
Sarah Buchanan has joined MFRG-ICON Construction as director of philanthropy to support the firm’s philanthropic efforts.
In this new role, Buchanan is responsible for developing an overall philanthropic and marketing strategy that will drive profitability, brand consistency, and overall market growth. She will provide leadership to build strong relationships with the goal of generating charitable contributions to support MFRG-ICON’s current and future goals. Buchanan will work closely with the director of corporate strategy to develop and update charitable giving opportunities nationwide.
The general contracting firm has completed more than 30,000 affordable housing units and $2 billion in construction while temporarily relocating over 50,000 families and seniors.
Real Estate Attorney Joins Holland & Hart
Melinda Pasquini has become a partner in the real estate, finance, and development practice at Holland & Hart. She is based in the firm’s Denver office.
Pasquini works with developers, owners, and investors in the affordable housing, health care, and energy industries on complex real estate transactions. Her diverse background includes advising clients on acquisitions and sales, financing, development, and leasing. She brings specialized expertise in transactions involving senior and affordable housing and multifamily properties.
Before joining Holland & Hart, Pasquini was a shareholder and associate at two Am Law 100 firms. She also worked for 10 years in executive finance, operational, and management roles for a multi-location, family-owned restaurant and bakery in Denver.
DCHA Names VP
Petuna Cooper has joined the District of Columbia Housing Authority (DCHA) as vice president of the Office of Audit and Compliance.
Prior to joining DCHA, Cooper was a corporate compliance leader for the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where she worked in unison with the director of internal audit and compliance to investigate and respond to internal and external violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of federal and local laws. She previously worked at Kaiser Permanente, Care First, and Hospice of Chesapeake in corporate compliance.
ACRE Adds to Multifamily Team
Bret Hewett has been appointed vice president of acquisitions and asset management at Asia Capital Real Estate (ACRE).
Based in ACRE’s offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Hewett will oversee and manage a dynamic team of institutional investment professionals who will be responsible for the investment and asset management of the firm’s national multifamily portfolio, including value-add, lease-up, and new development properties as ACRE deploys their fourth private equity fund. Prior to joining ACRE, Hewett served as the director of investments at Cortland, a global multifamily investment and management firm with a portfolio of more than 180 multifamily properties totaling over 60,000 units.
The firm specializes in value-add, multifamily opportunities and invests in workforce and affordable housing assets in strategic growth markets.
