Yardi Names Affordable Housing VP


Chuck Manly has been appointed vice president of the affordable and public housing authority (PHA) platforms at Yardi.

Based in Atlanta, his new role will continue to focus on client support and product innovation for the affordable housing and PHA industries.

Manly has decades of software and solution development experience. Coming to Yardi in 2006 as part of the acquisition of CLASSIC Real Estate Systems, he has worked continuously with PHAs and affordable housing providers.

Yardi develops industry-leading software for all types and sizes of real estate companies across the world.

The Michaels Organization Names Deputy CFO


Mark Biancucci has joined The Michaels Organization in the newly created role of deputy chief financial officer.

A finance executive with more than 22 years of real estate and construction experience, Biancucci recently worked at Lendlease, where he was chief financial officer for its U.S. business, overseeing financial strategies across a multibillion-dollar investment management, development, construction, and military housing portfolio.

Headquartered in Camden, New Jersey, The Michaels Organization is a national leader in residential real estate, including affordable and mixed-income housing. The firm serves more than 200,000 residents in more than 600 communities across 39 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

WHEDA Announces Northeast Region Representative

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has announced the appointment of Lydia Van Thiel as the community and economic development officer for the Northeast region.

Van Thiel will utilize her skills in relationship-building and problem-solving to enhance the importance of safe, secure homes for all Wisconsinites in the 21-county Northeast region.

Before joining WHEDA, she was the Blueprint to Prevent & End Homelessness director, implementing homelessness strategies in Brown County.

Berkadia Names Managing Director of Capital Markets


Rob Schultz has been appointed managing director of capital markets within the affordable housing platform at Berkadia, a fully integrated financial services platform comprised of mortgage banking, investment sales, and tax credit syndication.

He will be primarily responsible for developing and managing relationships with investors and structuring innovative financial solutions to support the firm’s affordable housing mortgage banking platform. Schultz will focus on capital needs beyond permanent affordable housing debt, including bridge and construction loans, mezzanine financing, and preferred equity.

Schultz joins from Greystone Housing Impact Investors. an affiliate of Greystone Servicing Co., where he served as managing director.

EAH Housing Expands Leadership Team


Kasey Archey has been named senior vice president, real estate management, at EAH Housing, one of the largest nonprofit affordable housing development and management organizations in the West.

She will oversee EAH Housing’s property management department, ensuring the well-being and viability of the organization’s affordable housing assets in California and Hawaii.

Previously, Archey served as senior vice president of property management at MidPen Housing and vice president of property operations at Eden Housing, two Northern California-based affordable housing nonprofits.

DECRO Announces New Team Members


DECRO, a nonprofit affordable housing developer based in Culver City, California, has added to its leadership team.

Fathia Macauley has been named chief real estate development officer. In this role, she provides oversight for the organization’s strategy for affordable housing and mixed-use development as well as asset management for its real estate portfolio. With over 30 years of experience in the community development finance field, she has financed and developed redevelopment projects throughout California. As a developer and lender, she has helped create over 5,000 affordable homes and managed more than $1 billion in Community Reinvestment Act and affordable housing investments.

Before joining DECRO, she was chief lending officer at Housing Trust Silicon Valley, overseeing over $320 million in loans. Macauley is a board member for Grounded Solutions Network, Northern California Association of Non-Profit Housing, Richmond Neighborhood Housing Services, and Innovative Housing Opportunities.

Armeen Neshat has joined the nonprofit as its real estate development director. He is responsible for the development of affordable housing and mixed-use projects, managing them through all phases—from due diligence and acquisition to construction and completion.

With seven years of experience in affordable housing and urban planning, Neshat previously served as deputy director of affordable housing production in the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office. In that role, he led key initiatives like Project Homekey and the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) program, securing over $103 million in funding for AHSC projects. He also expedited all 170 affordable housing projects in the city, facilitated the acquisition and financing of 1,250 interim housing units, and advanced innovation in permanent housing construction to expand housing access across Los Angeles.

Raymond James Expands Renewable Energy Capabilities


Raymond James has expanded its tax credit and impact investment capabilities by adding the entire team from TReK Capital Partners.

Joining the Raymond James Renewable Energy Investments team, these professionals will build on the strong renewables tax credit business created by the firm’s Affordable Housing Investment tax credit syndication group in recent years.

The new team members are Todd Velnosky, managing director; Ross Maynard, managing director; Kit Hazel, managing director; Oliver Olsen, vice president, renewable energy; Dustin Mayer, vice president, asset management; Danny D’Nagy, manager; and Brendan Kelly, manager.

All are based in the Greater St. Louis area and have expertise in a variety of renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, storage, and more.
