MidPen Housing Appoints Co-Leads of Development Team
Abby Goldware Potluri and Joanna Carman have been promoted to senior vice presidents and co-heads of housing development at MidPen Housing, a longtime nonprofit affordable housing developer, owner, and manager in Northern California.
Potluri and Carman share executive oversight of a team of more than 50 development professionals who are advancing a pipeline of 5,000 affordable homes, including nearly 1,500 units under construction.
They bring nearly three decades of expertise, creativity, and problem-solving capabilities to their new roles. Potluri joined MidPen’s development team in 2008, earning successive promotions to her previous role as vice president of housing development. In Carman’s five years as a MidPen director of development, she has advanced innovative developments and expanded the nonprofit’s impact in the Central Coast region.
Alliant Strategic Development Names SVP
Steven Spielberg has been appointed senior vice president of affordable housing at Alliant Strategic Development (ASD).
He brings more than two decades of multifamily development experience to the role, where he will spearhead all affordable housing efforts, including overseeing acquisition, entitlement, design, and construction operations.Spielberg recently served as vice president of real estate development at EAH Housing, where he played a pivotal role in launching and growing the nonprofit’s Southern California regional office. He was responsible for hiring and managing development staff and overseeing the acquisition and development of all its initial affordable housing projects.
ASD is a real estate development and investment platform that focuses on delivering affordable and attainable housing solutions in supply-constrained West Coast markets.
The Gateway Cos. Announces Leadership Moves
The Gateway Cos. has made two key hiring moves.
Darby Findley has joined the firm as general counsel, overseeing the legal affairs of all related activities, which focus on the development and operation of multifamily housing communities in the Southeast. Prior to joining Gateway, Findley practiced at the Coleman Talley law firm where she focused on affordable housing and commercial real estate.
Jason Curran has been promoted to chief financial officer after serving as director of accounting of the firm’s property management arm, Gateway Management Co. Earlier in his career, Curran was an audit manager at the Tidwell Group and a senior auditor at CohnReznick. He has primarily specialized in the construction and real estate industries, with an emphasis on low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-assisted projects.
The Gateway Cos. has developed, invested in, and operated conventional, affordable, and senior multifamily housing communities throughout the Southeast for nearly 40 years. Gateway Development Corp. has completed more than 100 communities with over 7,000 housing units in six states.
National Church Residences Adds to Team
National Church Residences, one of the nation’s largest providers of affordable senior housing and managers of service coordinators, has announced two key moves.
Kelli Meyung has returned to the nonprofit organization as vice president of senior living operations, and Margaret Gibson has been named vice president of marketing and sales.
Meyung directs operations for three Ohio-based and two Florida-based continuing care retirement communities within the organization’s senior living portfolio. She brings more than 30 years in the senior living industry, including her role at one of Florida’s largest senior communities where she served as the senior director of health care. Meyung previously served as vice president of operations design for the senior living division at National Church Residences.
Gibson will shape occupancy and growth strategies for the organization’s properties and service divisions as well as forge strong connections with community partners and industry leaders. She comes to the organization from Synchrony Health Services, an affiliate of Trilogy Health Services. During her tenure as a sales leader, she built and nurtured partnerships at the local, regional, and corporate levels, helping older adults thrive and age in place through the company’s coordinated pharmacy, rehab, and lab services. Earlier, Gibson served as vice president of market development for Summit Home Care.
Greystone Names Co-Presidents of Lending Platform
Debby Jenkins and Mordecai Rosenberg have been appointed co-presidents of Greystone’s comprehensive lending business platform.
They will seek to elevate, expand, and innovate across a variety of lending disciplines, including the firm’s agency debt, HUD-insured lending, commercial mortgage-backed securities, equity, structured finance, proprietary products, debt placement and advisory services, and loan servicing platforms.Jenkins is a former executive vice president and head of multifamily at Freddie Mac and also served as CEO and partner at C3.
Rosenberg has been a leader within Greystone for over 20 years, most recently leading G2, an innovation incubator he founded. Prior to this role, he was a sales leader, a role he grew into after starting out as a Federal Housing Administration originator.
JLL Adds to Affordable Housing Team
Senior directors Rasto Gallo and Mike Klaskin have joined JLL Capital Markets’ national affordable housing investment sales advisory team, where they will support the firm’s efforts nationwide in the execution of affordable housing transactions with a focus on the Midwest. Both are based in Chicago.
Since 2020, the affordable housing investment sales advisory team has closed over $7 billion in transactions.
With a combined 33 years of commercial real estate experience, the pair has been involved in multifamily housing dispositions and acquisitions nationwide, with a focus on LIHTC, HUD-subsidized, and U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development-subsidized affordable housing in the Midwest and central U.S. markets.
Most recently, they served as senior vice presidents at The LIHTC Group, where they co-led the Midwest and West affordable housing investment sales team for 10 years. Earlier, they were both a part of the investment sales team at the Chicago office of Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services.
The Vistria Group Names Partner
Lisa Davis has joined The Vistria Group as a partner and head of asset management on the real estate team.
Prior to joining the firm, Davis was executive director and portfolio manager at PGIM Real Estate, where she led a private equity impact fund, investing in affordable housing and mixed-use development and acquisitions. At PGIM, she also served as a senior member of the global ESG team, building PGIM Real Estate’s sustainable construction and social value frameworks. Earlier, Davis served as director of investor relations and specialty originations at Pembrook Capital Management.

Affordable Housing Management Appoints Executive Director
Jill Phaneuf has been named executive director of Affordable Housing Management (AHM), formerly known as Greater Greensboro Housing Foundation.
She brings experience in both affordable and market-rate housing to the North Carolina organization’s mission of bringing affordable housing to low- and moderate-income households through development and management.
Phaneuf’s hiring comes after David B. Levy’s retirement as executive director in December. Levy had been with AHM since 1993.
CohnReznick Elects Partners
CohnReznick, a leading advisory, assurance, and tax firm, has elected 24 professionals to its partnership, including several working in affordable housing and real estate.
The new partners include:
Benjamin Beer, an assurance partner in the firm’s financial services and commercial real estate practices. Beer specializes in alternative investments funds with investments strategies in real estate, private credit/debt, private equity, venture capital, and hedge funds. He is based in Los Angeles.
Cody Bronson, who provides attestation and assurance services such as audits, reviews, and compilations to affordable housing and commercial real estate clients. He is based in Boston.
Alexis Deutsch, who serves middle-market commercial real estate clients throughout the real estate ecosystem with a focus on hotels, real estate developers, multifamily housing builders, property owners and operators, and real estate private equity funds. She is based in Boston.
Ryan Ebner, who provides audit and business advisory services across the real estate life cycle to clients including operators, developers, management companies, and government agencies. He is based in Baltimore.
