Tapestry Announces Regional Development Director
Britni Grimes has been named regional development director at Tapestry Development Group. Based in Raleigh, North Carolina, she brings more than 20 years of real estate experience, including 17 years in the affordable housing industry.
In her new role, Grimes will oversee development projects funded primarily by low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs). Her responsibilities span the full development cycle, from site selection and deal structuring to construction management and lease-up.
During her career, Grimes has helped develop or preserve more than 3,800 affordable rental housing units and over 400 single-family homeownership units.
Headquartered in Georgia, Tapestry is a mission-driven affordable housing developer focused on creating and preserving affordable homes for low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
Wallick Announces Promotion
Mike Ekis has been promoted to senior vice president of construction at Wallick. He will oversee all aspects of the firm’s construction program, including plan development, budgeting, and project safety. In addition, Ekis will ensure each development’s overall production, quality, and profitability.
Ekis joined Wallick in 2020 as vice president of construction and has been instrumental in streamlining processes that have improved the department’s efficiency and productivity. His contributions have been vital to the team’s growth, which has doubled in size over the past four years and delivered an increasingly complex portfolio of projects.
Ekis has more than 20 years of broad experience constructing single-family homes, multifamily communities, and seniors housing in Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, and Ohio. Before joining Wallick, Ekis spent 12 years with The NRP Group, where he began as an assistant superintendent.

Minnesota Housing, the state’s housing finance agency, has appointed two executives to its leadership team.
Debbi Larson, who has been finance director at the organization since 2019, will serve as executive financial officer. She will lead the agency’s financial strategy, management, and execution. Larson will work to ensure that business divisions develop and execute a financially successful deployment of state and federal resources, as well as use of bond revenue and investment income.
Matt Dieveney, who has been secondary marketing director at Minnesota Housing since 2016, will serve as executive investment officer. He will lead the strategy development, deployment, and execution of the agency’s financial portfolio and is responsible for raising capital and maximizing investment returns in line with the mission and values of the governor and the commissioner.
“Minnesota Housing has grown in its financial complexity and capital structure over the past decade,” said Minnesota Housing commissioner Jennifer Leimaile Ho. “I’m delighted we have identified the talent and leadership we need to succeed on all fronts.”
DCHFA Adds to Team
Kira Antoine has joined the District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency (DCHFA) as an underwriter within the agency’s Multifamily Lending and Neighborhood Investment division. She will support the issuance of tax-exempt bonds, taxable bonds, 4% LIHTCs, and predevelopment loans through the McKinney Act. Prior to joining DCHFA, Antoine was a senior analyst within JLL’s Public Institutions division, providing real estate advisory services for the Department of Defense’s privatized military housing portfolio.
Brichette Reid joins DCHFA as the compliance manager for the portfolio and asset management team. With over a decade of experience in affordable housing, she brings a wealth of expertise across multiple states to her role. Reid’s career began in New York City, where she processed housing lottery applications with K&R Realty. She went on to manage compliance for her first LIHTC properties at Glenwood Management. After returning to her hometown of Washington, D.C., Reid expanded her experience by overseeing compliance across properties in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia with ResidentialOne, Paradigm, and Mill Creek Residential
Industry Veteran Takes Helm of the LA Housing Department
Tiena Johnson Hall has become general manager of the Los Angeles Housing Department.
She makes the move after serving as executive director of the California Housing Finance Agency, where she oversaw bond issuance, leveraged funding from the private sector, and administered funds from the state and the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development to deliver affordable housing.
Johnson Hall was born in Los Angeles and raised her two young children in affordable housing, where issues of public housing quality, access, and preservation became important for her.
The city council unanimously confirmed her appointment.
