Standard Communities Adds Acquisitions Veteran
Nick Boehm has been named managing director, acquisitions and redevelopment, at Standard Communities.
In his new role, he will drive the firm's nationwide acquisition and redevelopment pipeline, expanding Standard's preservation of existing affordable and workforce housing.
Boehm previously held affordable housing acquisitions and business development roles at Related Cos. and Redwood Housing Partners. During his more than 11 years in affordable housing, he has closed over 75 transactions comprised of more than 8,000 units and approximately $3 billion in total capitalization.
Standard Communities is a national affordable housing investment, development, and operations platform with approximately $6.5 billion in assets under management and more than 29,000 units across 22 states and the District of Columbia.
New Director Joins CDFI Fund
Chris Miller is the new director of the Treasury Department’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund.
He joins the CDFI Fund from Three Roots Capital, a certified CDFI based in Knoxville, Tennessee, where his areas of responsibility included financial and administrative management of Three Roots and its access to capital programs. Additionally, he provided client companies with operational assistance in the areas of financial management, transaction and cash flow modeling, and preparation to raise capital.
Overall, Miller has 20 years of experience operating and providing access to capital for small businesses.
Earlier in his career, he worked as a portfolio manager for a $150 million commercial loan portfolio with small business and middle market exposure. Before working in commercial banking, Miller was an associate for approximately $50 million of equity funds focused on early-stage and growth-stage investing in southern and central Appalachia, where he was responsible for deal origination, due diligence, and portfolio administration.
He takes the helm from Alexandria Smith, deputy assistant secretary at the Treasury, who had been serving as acting director of the CDFI Fund.
Lument Expands Debt Capital Markets Platform
Christian Gorissen has joined Lument’s debt capital markets team as a managing director. Based in Washington, D.C., he expands the company’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region while originating transactions for clients nationwide.
Gorissen brings more than two decades of multifamily finance experience, with expertise spanning agency lending, commercial banking, structured finance, and capital markets. During his career, he has originated more than $3 billion in financing across multifamily and commercial real estate assets.
Prior to joining Lument, Gorissen was a vice president and senior originator at PNC Bank focused on multifamily debt solutions. He has held senior production and originations roles with NorthMarq, Truist (SunTrust), KeyBank, and Deutsche Bank’s Berkshire Mortgage Finance platform. His experience includes Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Federal Housing Administration, bank, commercial mortgage-backed securities, and balance-sheet lending in addition to equity placements.
