Up to 10 communities will be awarded a total of $33 million to reduce the number of youth experiencing homelessness. Four will be rural communities.

The funding is being made available through the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD has released a notice of funding availability and is encouraging all communities, through their local Continuum of Care, to apply. The deadline is Nov. 30.

The selected communities will have access to funding for projects, the opportunity to implement new and innovative project models, and dedicated teams of technical assistance providers to advise the planning and implementation of the coordinated community plan.
