Wallick has expanded its footprint into North Carolina with the opening of a 72-unit affordable housing development in Siler City.

Oak View features a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments in three walk-up buildings.

“New businesses are coming to Siler City. We need more housing for a range of incomes to meet the demand for workers moving here to fill these jobs. Oak View is a significant addition to the community that will help fill this need,” said mayor Donald A. Matthews.

The $14 million development was financed with low-income housing tax credits awarded by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and syndicated by CAHEC. Financing partners included RiverHills Bank and Chatham County housing trust funds.

Other project partners include Tightlines Designs and Mc2 Engineering. Partnership Property Management manages the community.

“With this community, we are continuing our mission of opening doors to homes, opportunities, and hope,” said Wallick CEO Amy Albery.

The firm has plans for additional projects in the state with three communities in the early development stages in Raleigh, Goldsboro, and Winston-Salem.

Headquartered in Ohio, Wallick serves the affordable, senior living, and workforce housing markets and operates five business divisions: development, construction, asset management, affordable housing operations, and senior living operations. With more than 1,100 associates, the company manages more than 200 affordable and senior communities across the Midwest, having developed and built more than 400 communities throughout its history.
