
FTK Construction Services announced that it has completed the rehabilitation of Fairway Village Apartments, a 250-unit affordable housing community in Dallas. The contracted amount of the project was $19 million.
The firm, a national general contractor that specializes in low-income housing tax credit preservation projects, completed extensive interior and exterior renovations at the property over a 22-month period.
Exterior renovations included new roofs, paint, central heating and air conditioning, sewer repair, and major plumbing and electrical upgrades. On the unit interiors, kitchens and bathrooms were updated. Additional upgrades included parking lot pavement, sidewalk repair, new LED lighting, new perimeter fencing, and energy-efficient enhancements. The project also features a new community building with a kitchen, a computer lab, and a renovated leasing and management office as well as two playgrounds and a pavilion.
Built in 1969, Fairway Village Apartments consists of 19 two-story buildings on 16.27 acres. The property is owned by Denver-based Monroe Group in partnership with Steele Properties.
The architect for this project was Benton Design Group, and the lender was KeyBank. This expansive renovation required and received approval from the Dallas City Council.
