The four urban finalists are meeting several community needs: 1064 Mission Street in San Francisco not only provides permanent supportive housing, but it also houses a clinic and a culinary academy; Berkeley Way and The Hope Center in Berkeley, California, is meeting the need for shelter and food; Lucille and Bruce Terwilliger Place in Arlington, Virginia, focuses on veterans; and Sixth Avenue Flats in Des Moines, Iowa, delivers housing and opportunities for youth aging out of foster care.
