Gorman & Co. Announces Moves

Rachel Snethen has been promoted to vice president of development operations at Gorman & Co., a national leader in community revitalization and affordable housing development.

The company has also welcomed Kate Lemon to its Wisconsin development team as director of development. 

Snethen’s promotion recognizes more than 15 years of leadership, innovation, and service to Gorman. Since joining the firm in 2010, she has played integral roles in supporting the company's national development platform, helping guide projects through financing, closing, construction, and stabilization while mentoring the next generation of affordable housing professionals. Her professional development has also included participation in Gorman & Co.’s Professional Growth Academy, a leadership development program designed to cultivate future company leaders and strengthen collaboration across markets.

In her new role, Snethen will continue to serve on Gorman’s executive leadership team and oversee development operations across their growing national portfolio, focusing on implementing leadership strategy, quality assurance, process improvement, and strategic growth initiatives including technology and artificial intelligence solutions.

Lemon brings extensive experience in affordable housing development, having worked on projects across more than 10 states throughout her career. Her expertise spans the nonprofit, public, and private sectors, providing a well-rounded perspective that will support Gorman’s continued growth and impact throughout Wisconsin.

Prior to joining Gorman, she served as vice president of real estate finance at the Wisconsin Housing Preservation Corp. and previously held roles with Baker Tilly and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). At WHEDA, she underwrote and awarded more than $100 million in affordable housing tax credit investments.

In her new position, Lemon will support development activities throughout Wisconsin, alongside Matt Childress as the Wisconsin market president, helping advance projects that create and preserve high-quality affordable housing opportunities across the state.

Housing Trust Silicon Valley Names VP

Andrea Alexander has joined Housing Trust Silicon Valley as vice president of finance and operations.

Alexander brings more than 25 years of experience leading financial operations, organizational strategy, and administrative services across nonprofit organizations and higher education. She has extensive expertise in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, capital planning, risk management, governance, and operational leadership.

Most recently, she served as vice president of finance and administrative services for Evergreen Valley Community College, where she oversaw financial operations, administrative services, and more than $615 million in capital projects.

A Community Development Financial Institution, the Housing Trust has invested $690 million in affordable housing and created 28,700 housing opportunities serving 53,800 people, leveraging $9 billion in capital with partners across the San Francisco Bay Area region. 

Akerman Expands Real Estate Practice

Lisa S. Lim has joined Akerman’s real estate practice group as a partner in New York City and will chair the firm’s affordable housing transactions practice. She joins one of the largest and most active real estate legal teams in the nation, strengthening Akerman’s transactional and predevelopment capabilities in New York.

Lim focuses her practice on real estate finance and development, economic development, and affordable housing. She advises clients on public-private partnerships, tax-exempt bond financing, low-income housing tax credits, and the regulatory frameworks governing large-scale development projects. 

She previously served as general counsel of the New York City Public Housing Preservation Trust, and earlier in her career held positions at Empire State Development, the New York State Housing Finance Agency, the New York State Office of the Attorney General, and the New York City Housing Authority.
