Milestone Names Head of Development

Marlee Busching-Truscott recently became a partner and head of development at Milestone, a mission-driven real estate company focused on affordable and workforce housing.

She is leading new development efforts across New York state and beyond.

Prior to joining Milestone, Busching-Truscott was a managing director at The Hudson Cos., where she led over $2 billion in affordable, workforce, and market-rate multifamily transactions since 2017. 

“I look forward to expanding on the work I have done to bring quality, sustainable housing in New York to more locations throughout Milestone’s portfolio. I am excited to help lead the Milestone team as we bring more developments and colleagues into the fold,” she said.

She has joined Milestone at a time of growth across New York, New England, and the Upper Midwest.

Lawson Announces Appointment

Lawson has named Sarah Bernier vice president of Lawson Realty Corp. and director of property operations. She will oversee and support Lawson’s extensive multifamily portfolio, including low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) and market-rate properties throughout Virginia.

Most recently, Bernier served as vice president of RealPage Compliance Services, where she was responsible for compliance oversight of approximately 300,000 affordable housing units and more than $12 million in annual revenue

Lawson manages and owns approximately 5,000 apartment units and continues to grow with nearly 1,200 units under construction or in development.

DarrowEverett Welcomes Saxon | Gilmore Team

DarrowEverett, a full-service law firm serving businesses and individuals across the country, has announced the integration of the Tampa, Florida-based Saxon | Gilmore team.

Tylee Kessler has been promoted to managing director, head of underwriting. Based in the Charlotte, North Carolina, office, Kessler joined RBC in 2010 and is managing the acquisition and development management teams and overseeing initial deal underwriting and permanent loan conversions. Prior to her current role, she managed a team of analysts and associates and oversaw the initial underwriting of all deals, and, in 2024, she was added to firm’s investment committee.

Courtney Mooney, who joined RBC in 2022 as director, renewable tax credit investments, has been elevated to managing director, head of transaction execution. Based in Boston, Mooney is the lead investor relationship manager and lead of upper-tier execution for new and existing syndication and credit buyer clients. She also oversees RBC’s renewable tax credit portfolio consisting of 6.4 GW of energy capacity with a total fair market value of $12 billion.

Jainesh Shah has been promoted to managing director and has served as head of financial management since 2021 in Charlotte. Shah is responsible for the efforts of the acquisition management and financial management departments. He joined RBC as an asset manager in 2010, moved into a financial analysis role in 2011, and assumed leadership of the pricing group in late 2017, overseeing the financial structuring of tax credit investments.

George Giannopoulos has been promoted to director, financial management lead of renewable tax credit investments. He joined RBC in 2016 as an investment analyst and was promoted to an associate and later vice president focused on the financial structuring, execution, and transaction management of RBC’s direct investments and syndicated renewable energy transactions. Based in New York, Giannopoulos has played a key role in closing, syndicating, and managing over $2.7 billion of tax equity transactions.

Steve Greer has been elevated to director, acquisition management lead. His responsibilities expanded last year to oversee initial underwriting and structuring on LIHTC deals as well as workforce housing deals. He was promoted to vice president, pricing group manager, in 2021, where he managed a team of investment analysts and associates in pricing and structuring investment opportunities. He joined RBC in 2014 as an analyst in the Charlotte office and was promoted to investment associate in 2017.

Maura Reddington serves as director, diligence services lead, within the investment services team following her recent promotion. Based in Chicago, Reddington moved into a role within the investment services team in 2025 and quickly assumed leadership of the eight-person diligence services team. She joined RBC Community Investments in 2011 in an analyst role and has continuously taken on greater responsibility, being promoted to various roles at the firm.

Matt Weston has been promoted to director, acquisitions management lead, of the pricing group. He was elevated to vice president, pricing group manager, in 2021. He joined RBC in 2014 as an investment analyst in the Charlotte office and became an investment associate in 2017. Weston leads analysts and associates in assisting the originations and sales team platform structure investment opportunities.

Yi Xie, who joined RBC in 2022 as a vice president, renewable tax credit investments, has been promoted to director, originations management lead, in the New York office. Xie manages sponsor relationships and oversees transaction originations and closings. Since joining RBC, he has closed more than $1.5 billion in tax equity transactions across utility scale and distributed generation renewable energy projects.

Joshua Arnold has been promoted to vice president, acquisitions management. Based in Charlotte, Arnold joined RBC Community Investments in 2021 as an investment analyst and was elevated to investment associate in 2023. As vice president, he is responsible for managing acquisitions and working directly with developers and community partners to structure and execute LIHTC transactions.

Battelli’s expertise and 10 years of experience in affordable housing has been instrumental on the development equity management team since its inception last year.

Talia Clayton has been elevated to vice president, development equity management. She joined RBC in 2022 as an associate—stabilized asset manager and works out of Portland, Oregon. Clayton’s ability to navigate complicated transactions and guide sensitive client relations has elevated her and the overall development equity management team.

Travis Covington has been promoted to vice president, acquisitions management. Based in Charlotte, he joined RBC in 2019 as an investment analyst and was promoted to associate in 2023. His current responsibilities include acquisitions coverage within the pricing group for the Midwest and Northeast markets, and he is also a leader of the investment analyst training program.

Cameron Cramer has been promoted to vice president, acquisitions management. Based in Charlotte, he joined RBC in 2020 as an investment analyst with a primary focus on underwriting new LIHTC transactions. His expertise in transaction structuring and risk analysis earned him promotion to associate in 2023. In his vice president role, Cramer is responsible for acquisitions management and continues to leverage his deep underwriting knowledge to evaluate and execute complex LIHTC investment opportunities across the country.

Jennifer Walton serves as vice president, transaction review, following her promotion within the investment serves team in the Cleveland office. She joined RBC in 2015 as a member of RBC’s law group, supporting RBC Community Investments. She transferred to the Community Investments business unit as an associate and has continuously taken on greater roles and responsibilities, providing service to internal and external stakeholders relating to the execution of closing tax credit transactions.
