In addition to 200 units of seniors housing, Long Beach Senior Arts Colony includes more than 15,000 square feet of amenity space.
The first phase was bifurcated into two separately financed projects. Phase 1A was financed with 4 percent low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and tax-exempt bonds, while Phase 1B was financed with 9 percent LIHTCs.
The project offers ample outdoor space for the residents, including community gardens, a dog park, a spa, and barbecue areas.
The development team has partnered with EngAGE, a nonprofit service provider that focues on creative and healthy aging with arts and wellness activities. Classes include pottery, painting, and drawing.
