Historic Rehab Finalist: Buzza Lofts

Built in 1907, the Buzza building in Minneapolis orginally housed the Self-Threading Needle Co. Now it's home to 136 apartments.

The building had been vacant for nearly two years before Dominium began rehabbing the historic structure into housing.

The seventh-floor tower, which used to be a board room during its office building days, has been turned into a resident lounge.

Buzza Lofts has a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments.

Dominium utilized low-income housing tax credits, federal historic tax credits, and the recently created Minnesota Historic Tax Credit to finance the $35.2 million Buzza Lofts.
