The $27.5 million Lincoln Towers serves two important needs in Wilmington, Del. The new development delivers 88 units of seniors housing and is home to the Wilmington Fire Department station.
People wonder if the noise from the fire station bothers the residents, but it hasn’t been an issue, according to Milton Pratt Jr., senior vice president at Michaels Development Co., who says consideration was given to traffic and sound. He adds that firefighters activate engine sirens once they leave the station.
Lincoln Towers serves seniors 62 and older with incomes between 10 and 50 percent of the area median income. The property was fully occupied within four months and has a two-year waiting list.
