If you think it’s time for the federal government to get its act together on housing, don’t wait passively for the presidential candidates to tell you where they stand on our issues. Join AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE and industry leaders as we tell the candidates what they MUST do to reverse the damage caused by the current absence of a coherent federal housing policy. Our initiative is called Americans for a New Federal Housing Commitment. In the March issue of AFFORDABLE HOUSING FINANCE, we list dozens of housing policy ideas for the next president and the next secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We also list potential candidates for secretary of HUD. Now it’s your turn. Give us your feedback when you receive the March issue or go online now and respond electronically. Click here to take survey.
We’ll boil our lists down to 10 policy objectives for the president and 10 for the HUD secretary, plus a short list of possible leaders for HUD. Then with your help, we’ll enlist support from opinion leaders across America—not just from housing, but from business, social service, major churches, and major media, to name just a few. We will present our policy proposals and what we hope will be a very long list of endorsers to the next president’s policy staff, members of Congress and the national media.
