Twenty-nine states will share $4.61 million in unused low-income housing tax credit carryover this year, according to a notice published by the Internal Revenue Service.

California is set to receive the largest share of the national pool, with an allocation of $882,632 followed by New York, $436,202, and Florida, $410,197.

The national pool was announced in Revenue Procedure 2009-40.

Last year, 28 states received about $4.2 million from the national pool, according to the 2008 notice.
