Several States Unveil Draft QAPs

By Donna Kimura

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) has released a list of proposed changes to its 2012 low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) program.

The agency is evaluating areas for change, including points for leveraging other sources of funds, relative weight of points for rehabilitation, and restructuring the required preference for projects serving lowest-income tenants to provide incentive to include units for households earning less than 50 percent of the area median income.

Changes being proposed by THDA were still preliminary in early August.  For more information, visit www.thda.org.

Several other states have also released their draft qualified allocation plans (QAPs) for their LIHTC programs.

The Utah Housing Corp. also released its draft QAP, which proposes an Oct. 3, 2011, application deadline. For more information, visit www.utahhousingcorp.org.

The Ohio Housing Finance Agency, www.ohiohome.org, and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, www.phfa.org, have also recently posted their draft plans.
