Fire Damages TNDC Building

A fire severely damaged the Franciscan Towers, which houses 113 low-income individuals and the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corp. (TNDC) corporate offices in San Francisco on Tuesday.

The building is also home to TNDC’s after-school program.

All residents had been accounted for and relocated. Authorities reported that approximately 20 people required medical assistance.

On Wednesday, the building was “yellow-tagged” and the cause of the evening fire was being investigated, according to TNDC representatives.

The nonprofit owns and manages 30 buildings that provide homes for more than 3,500 extremely low-income families, seniors, and people with disabilities.
