Housing Groups Turn 20

In 1989, the Berlin Wall fell, the Exxon Valdez ran aground, and the B-52s took everyone on a road trip to the love shack.

New community development organizations were also blossoming around the country.
That means several prominent affordable housing developers are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year.

They include Skid Row Housing Trust in Los Angeles, Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing in Arlington, Va., and Montgomery Housing Partnership in Montgomery County, Md.

Not to be outdone: Resources for Community Development, a Berkeley, Calif.-based nonprofit housing builder, turned 25 this year. LINC Housing in Long Beach, Calif., is also celebrating 25 years.

What other affordable housing groups are celebrating milestone anniversaries this year? Let us know.
