The FY 2007 budget proposal is out

Yes, the White House is again proposing the "Strengthening America's Communities" plan to weaken urban economic development grant programs such as CDBG. Further details to be noted shortly, but for now, here are some of the essential budget links for housing people:

- The main budget proposal page at the Office of Management and Budget.

- The main budget proposal document, which is essentially the press release version, and HUD's HTML-edition section of same.

- HUD's section of the more detailed Appendix.

- HUD's press release on its own budget proposal.

- Treasury's version of its own budget documents.

[ANOTHER LINK: Treasury's Blue Book of revenue proposals -- see especially Empowerment Zones and Brownfields topics.]

- The "ExpectMore.gov" Web site, newly launched today with the clear purpose of marketing OMB's "PART" descriptions of program performance as a definitive rating system.

More later.
