Aurora Housing Announces Executive Director

Craig A. Maraschky has been named the new executive director of the Aurora Housing Authority in Aurora, Colo.

He has 15 years of experience in affordable housing. He recently served as the founding executive director of the Douglas County Housing Partnership in Colorado.

Preston Prince, who used to head the Aurora agency, left to become executive director of the Housing Authorities of the City and County of Fresno, Calif.

Cook Resigns from Kentucky Housing Corp.

Ben A. Cook has resigned as CEO of Kentucky Housing Corp., the state housing finance agency. Cook had served in the top post since 2004, following his retirement from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Kentucky Housing announced that Richard L. McQuady is serving as interim CEO. He has been with the agency for 23 years.

California Development Firm Announces Promotion

Eve Stewart has been promoted to director of housing development at Affordable Housing Associates, an affordable housing developer based in Berkeley, Calif.

Stewart, who has guided some of the group's most complex developments during the last several years, will supervise the development staff.

Quadel Announces Leadership Team

Quadel Consulting Corp. has named Kathleen M. Rotondaro CEO and chairman, and Edward Symes III vice chairman.

Dorli Bokel is the new president, and John Nolan is executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Quadel is a Washington, D.C.-based firm providing management, consulting, and training services to the affordable housing industry. The firm was established by Rotondaro, who previously served as president, and Symes, who was executive vice president, in 1978.

Raymond James Hires VP

Robert C. Landis has joined Raymond James Tax Credit Funds, Inc., as vice president and director of asset management.

He will be responsible for managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio of more than 1,100 low-income housing tax credit partnerships in 43 states. The company is a leading syndicator of tax credits and a subsidiary of Raymond James Financial.

Landis was president of Lane Management, LLC, in Atlanta. He also served as senior vice president with both Alliance Residential Management and United Dominion Realty Trust in Texas.

New Appointments at Key

KeyBank Real Estate Capital has appointed David Shillington to senior vice president and director of agency lending. He will lead the group that originates Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Federal Housing Administration loans.

Shillington is joining Key's Agency Lending Group after several years with the bank's Institutional Capital Group.

In another move, Paul Ettorre has been appointed vice president and regional manager of Key's Community Development Lending for the Great Lakes North Region. Ettorre and his team will focus on projects that stimulate new construction and the rehabilitation of housing as well as economic growth in economically disadvantaged communities.

Nixon Peabody Names Partner

Gregory Doran has been elected a partner at Nixon Peabody, LLP. Doran concentrates his practice on tax credit syndication and community development.

He represents syndicators, project sponsors, community development entities, and investors in structuring and negotiating deals involving housing tax credits and New Markets Tax Credits. He is based in Washington, D.C.

New VP Joins Crosland

Tracey L. Whitson has become vice president of operations for the residential division of Crosland, LLC. Crosland's management portfolio includes 1,000 affordable housing units and 4,000 market-rate residences. Headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., the firm has about 1,500 new units under construction in North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.

Whitson has worked in the multifamily industry since 1991, recently serving as vice president of operations for Archstone-Smith.

SAHF Hires Policy Associate

Anne Marie Brady has been hired to fill the new post of policy associate at Stewards of Affordable Housing for the Future, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the provision and preservation of affordable housing.

Brady, who has conducted research for London-based social research think tank The Young Foundation, will help expand the organization's ability to perform analysis and policy work
