    Summary: This bill would reform the housing choice voucher program under section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937. The entity providing assistance must conduct biennial inspections, according to established standards & requirements. It increases the frequency of reviews of family income, and clarifies definitions and calculations of different income categories. Cleans up definitions of and regulations for the Homeownership Downpayment Program; Voucher Renewal Funding; PHA reporting of rent payments to credit reporting agencies; performance assessments; PHA project-based assistance; and reports on rent burden, among others. Takes effect Jan. 1, 2008.
