Carrington to leave TDHCA, join Reznick Group
By Donna Kimura
Austin, Texas – Edwina Carrington is leaving the top post at the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) to join the Reznick Group, an accounting and business advisory firm active in the affordable housing field.
She will join the company in April to help establish and lead the group’s first Southwestern office in Austin, Texas.
Carrington is credited with helping turn around TDHCA, which was hit with criminal investigations and allegations of corruption prior to her arrival in 2002. She has also worked at the Texas Housing Finance Corp., the Austin Housing Finance Corp. and the Texas Housing Agency, the forerunner to TDHCA.
TDHCA is responsible for allocating more than $40 million in annual federal housing tax credits.
Carrington is not the first high-profile housing finance agency executive director to join Reznick recently. Jeanne Peterson, former head of the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, joined the firm in its Sacramento, Calif., office in 2004
