Sares-Regis
Appoints President
Michael P. Bissell has been named
president of Sares-Regis’ multifamily
property management
division.
Bissell will succeed
James V. Thomas,
who retired at the
end of 2007 after
16 years with the
Irvine, Calif.-based
real estate company.
Bissell previously worked at M.P.
Bissell & Associates, a real estate consulting
firm he headed in Walnut
Creek, Calif. He has held senior posts
with large multifamily trusts such as
Equity Residential and Archstone.
Aztec Promotes
Top Performer
Peter Mekras
has been promoted
to managing director
for Aztec
Group, Inc., a
Miami-based real
estate and investment
merchant
banking firm. Since
joining the company in 2003, Mekras
has completed transactions representing
more than $1 billion and
involving more than 11,000 multifamily
units.
Madison Names
Managing Director
Eric Scheffler has been named
managing director and general counsel
for Madison Realty Capital.
Scheffler will help oversee the New
York City firm’s loan portfolio and
manage the lender’s corporate legal
strategy. Madison is involved in a
number of apartment and condominium
financings. He formerly served as
an associate director with Bear,
Stearns and Co.
Arbor Establishes
Presence in Washington
Arbor Commercial Mortgage has
opened a new office in Kirkland,
Wash. Brian Herc will relocate from
Bloomfield Hills, Mich., to the new
office to serve as originator. Herc is
responsible for originating the firm’s
multifamily and commercial product
lines including Fannie Mae, Federal
Housing Administration, bridge, mezzanine,
and preferred equity.
